"AI is transforming everything," notes de Geus. In vehicle development, AI simulates entire vehicle systems and analyzes vast data, making development faster, more accurate, and cost-effective. 🤖🚘 What Role Does EDA Play in This Transformation? Electronic Design Automation (EDA) automates chip design processes, enabling efficient development of complex systems through modeling, simulation, and optimization. "EDA speeds up the design process and improves accuracy," explains de Geus. These tools are crucial to meet rising demands for computing power and efficiency, particularly with AI and advanced automotive applications. ⚙️🔍 Why Are Multi-Die Designs Important? Multi-die designs enhance chip performance and efficiency. The tight packing of multiple chips results in higher density and faster data transfer. "Multi-die designs are revolutionizing chip architecture," says de Geus. This technology allows for faster, more energy-efficient complex tasks, essential for automotive industry demands. 🔋🚀 What Are the Challenges in Modern Electronic Design? A major challenge in modern electronic design, especially with 3D chips, is effective thermal management. Without proper cooling, chips can overheat, affecting performance and lifespan. "Heat is the enemy of the next 20 years," says de Geus. It's a wrap! The 28th Automobil-Elektronik Kongress brought many exciting insights and innovations. Here are some of the highlights from the presentations: 🚗 Alexander Kocher, CEO of Quintauris: Kocher highlighted the advantages of RISC-V technology, which is license-free and customizable, emphasizing its role as a trusted alternative for the automotive industry. 🤖 Zohar Fox, CEO of Aurora Labs: Fox explained the transformative role of AI in OTA updates and software reliability, including the use of NLP and machine learning through the Loci system, which enables efficient and precise software analysis. 🌐 Angela Wang, Senior Vice President of Neusoft: Wang discussed the significance of the Chinese market and the need for global collaboration to create a new ecosystem for software-defined vehicles. ♻️ Joachim Mathes, CTO of Valeo: Mathes emphasized the importance of sustainability in SDVs, advocating for the development of durable, repairable, and recyclable vehicles while implementing 4R principles. 💳 Hans Puvogel, COO Parkopedia: Puvogel highlighted the importance of in-car commerce and the challenges of integrating payment systems into vehicles to promote the monetization of SDVs.
