Working closely with the companies who create the products we use is a huge part of what I love about my job. Making sure that the way we facilitate digital communication between the public and the force that is effective, accessible and intuitive for everyone is hugely important and something I know Sophie Kelly is passionate about too. Yesterday me and Natalie Carroll attended Orlo’s Police Community Forum in #Birmingham, hosted by the wonderful Sophie Kelly! 🥳 The event was incredibly insightful with many forces sharing their social strategies, goals, and what the future looks like in digital for them. We have so many talented people working in this sector across our police forces in the UK and it was a pleasure to learn and hear from them all!

Really pleased to be asked to deliver an input at Orlo’s Policing Forum in sunny (😱?!) Birmingham yesterday. Hopefully it was of use to my fellow police comms colleagues! These events are always really insightful, giving us digital communicators space to share best practise, celebrate our wins and plan for the future. Paris or Birmingham? While not quite a trip to Paris (maybe next time Sophie Kelly?!) The significantly shorter train journey to Birmingham for the Orlo Police Community Forum, was definitely worth the trip. As always it was packed full of insights from other forces and sharing of best practice. I have come away with a head full of thoughts and ideas, and I'm excited to see where they take us!

Earlier today, King Charles delivered Labour's first King's Speech where he shared the new Government plans.
