"It is like carrying another version of you on your back, that's how heavy the weight of the burden feels..." Meet Pete, aka Fit Beyond Forty, who's gearing up to climb Snowdon with a 50kg manikin strapped to his back. Why? He wants us to talk more about our mental heath. He wants to encourage people to lighten their loads, and release the weight of carrying their problems around silently. This physical challenge embodies the mental, but often times also physical weight that many carry, and aims to spark conversations about mental well-being, urging men over forty to speak up and seek support when needed. Recently U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Sitka crews rehearsed a new hoisting technique that allows the rescue swimmer and casualty to be recovered simultaneously, potentially saving time and reducing risk. We're always fascinating to see innovative techniques in action, especially when they enhance both efficiency and safety 🚁 always a bonus when we spot our manikins playing a vital role in such crucial training exercises too 👌
