Elevating your voice! Thank you for joining us for today's incredible CPS Parent Voice Summer Parent Engagement Retreat! Those who attended heard an insightful panel discussion from Assistant City Manager, Virginia Tallent, CPS Parent Leader, Abria Drummonds, Dr. Fiat from Cincinnati Children's Medical Center and Cincinnati Police Sgt. Stewart Isaacs, moderated by our very own Dr. Kareem Moffett! Families also enjoyed the many resources made possible through our partners and CPS volunteers!

The CPS tagline, "Preparing Students for Life," extends its promise to all 36,000-plus students across the district, including those with disabilities who often face challenges in the job market. To bridge this gap, the CPS’ Department of Student Services launched a six-week post-secondary transition program, empowering students with disabilities to explore diverse career paths such as agriculture, woodworking, t-shirt printing and even music producing! Oyler School media arts students got the inside scoop on local media thanks to a year-long collaboration with Greater Cincinnati Association of Black Journalists! CPS schools and buildings will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. This important holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of freedom finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Let us reflect on our history, honor the resilience of African Americans, and commit to the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.
