🎆Happy 4th of July from CPS! 🎆 Today, we celebrate the spirit of independence and unity that defines our nation. As we gather with family and friends to enjoy fireworks and festivities, let's also reflect on the values of freedom, diversity and opportunity that we uphold in our classrooms every day. Please note that ALL CPS buildings will be closed today in observance of the holiday. Wishing our CPS community a safe and joyful Independence Day!

The CPS tagline, "Preparing Students for Life," extends its promise to all 36,000-plus students across the district, including those with disabilities who often face challenges in the job market. To bridge this gap, the CPS’ Department of Student Services launched a six-week post-secondary transition program, empowering students with disabilities to explore diverse career paths such as agriculture, woodworking, t-shirt printing and even music producing! CPS schools and buildings will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. This important holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of freedom finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Let us reflect on our history, honor the resilience of African Americans, and commit to the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.
