Our very own Dr. Norrick, alongside a passionate VOSH team and local heroes, spent 4 1/2 days conducting around 1,800 eye exams for the residents of Puerto Viejo and the rural Talamanca region in Costa Rica. Many of whom had never before seen an eye doctor! More than half of their patients are now looking at the world through new eyeglasses or sunglasses, and we're reminded of the profound impact compassion and community can have. Here's to changing lives, one pair of glasses at a time.

Meet Dr. David Seay, whose experience going to an eye doctor as a kid inspired him to pursue optometry to help others with their vision. Dr. Seay had poor eyesight as a child and remembers how wondrous it was the first time he put on glasses. 👁 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆? Throughout the years, he's found the experience of seeing multiple generations of families most rewarding. Let's talk about the amazing benefits of an Optomap Retinal Exam! 👀 This device lets our doctors view the retina in detail with a 200° high-resolution image. This image makes early diagnosis of eye conditions and treatments easier while allowing the patient to increase their understanding of their eye health.
