Arthur Hamilton, Human-Centered Design Intern, has been busy this summer “learning so much every day, meeting incredible people, and hopefully leaving my mark at Ford!” Arthur is a student at Western Washington University majoring in Industrial Design and User Experience Design. He shared three of his favorite experiences so far: 🚙Meeting and asking questions to Bill Ford, the executive chair at Ford and great-grandson of Henry Ford. 🚙Attending and participating in seminars on Gravity Sketch and Vizcom—design tools he studied in school. He’s “thrilled to take those skills to the next level.” 🚙Marching with the Ford contingent in the Motor City Pride Parade the day before his internship started. Arthur says he’s “enthralled sitting next to and seeing clay models of future vehicles each day,” and though he can’t share the actual models for confidentiality reasons, he provided a publicly available generic example to give us an idea of his work environment. Thank you for sharing your experience so far, Arthur! Would you like to shape the vehicles of tomorrow and learn from leaders in your field? Look for 2025 internship opportunities in early fall! #WeAreFord #FordDesign #FordIntern

The legend is back! The new, all-electric Capri made its comeback in Europe, but do you know the story of its debut? Codeveloped by British and German Ford engineers, the Capri was nicknamed “the car that’s doing 60 standing still.” After the introduction of the Ford Mustang in North America in the mid-1960s, Mustang fever spread around the world, and the Ford Capri was the answer. Produced at Ford’s plants in Halewood (U.K.) and Cologne, Germany, over 1.8 million hit the road between 1969 and 1986. Want to work at a company that can turn the best of the past into the future? Ford Intern Culture Day was about connection and building community. Leaders from our employee resource groups (ERGs) talked about their experiences making connections across the company and then hosted a meet-and-greet session. Interns had a chance to meet ERG members and find out more about how they can get involved. Interested in a company that spans the globe but feels like home? Thrilled to share a glimpse of my experience at the Ford simulator in North Carolina! 🚗💨 During my visit, I had the opportunity to dive deep into how the simulator works, exploring different models and their real-world applications. It was fascinating to drive on various tracks, feeling the different cueing and mechanics that made it so realistic. This hands-on experience has sparked new ideas for my thesis project and has been an invaluable part of my internship with Ford Performance. Grateful for these opportunities to learn and grow, and I hope to be back here again one day! #FordPerformance #Engineering #Simulation #Internship #WeAreFord #FordIntern

It’s not every day that Ford of Canada can add “furry friends” to their list of customers served, but thanks to a devoted team of Ford of Canada employees, The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (LFCDG) is back in full operation with two new Ford Transit vans! The LFCDG is a national not-for-profit foundation, located in Oakville and Breslau, Ontario, that is dedicated to providing Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians with a wide range of disabilities such as seizures, vision and hearing impairment, diabetes and more. They produce over 100 canine graduates annually. Last year, the Foundation found themselves in desperate need of a new vehicle fleet after their own were beyond repair. They required reliable and wheelchair accessible vehicle transportation to transport their dogs and clients between locations. Available in multiple configurations to meet business needs, the Ford Transit was the perfect fit for Dog Guides, offering sliding doors with easy access to cargo space and capacity for racks, bins, and supplies. When Dana Goodfellow, Ford PRO marketing manager, got the call from a friend sharing the Foundation’s need for new vehicles, she jumped into action. “It took a village to secure these two Ford Transit vans, and I’m so proud of our team for their work to support such a wonderful cause,” said Goodfellow. Working alongside Goodfellow, Andrew Smith, national service operations for Ford of Canada, was a key driver for the success of this initiative. As a dedicated foster parent for the LFCDG, it pained him to see the beat up vans the Foundation was using. When some roadblocks were reached, Andrew took it upon himself to connect with David Nourse at Kennedy Dealership and Bev Goodman, president and CEO of Ford of Canada, who involved Sales and Ford Pro members, Dean Geddes and Greg Watkins. It was a true team effort that enabled them to successfully secure the in-demand Transit vehicles for the LFCDG and the people they help. Paws up for the Ford of Canada team! Hello everyone! My name is Lilyan Toma, and despite being only 19 years old, I am already a senior at Wayne State University. I am currently in an accelerated program where I am pursuing both my bachelor's in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics and a master's in AI Algorithms and Systems. I am on track to graduate in December 2025. I am thrilled to share that I am a #FordIntern with the Cyber Security - Red Team, serving as a Social Media Ambassador. I will be focusing on ethical hacking and learning how to prevent cyber threats by staying ahead of the bad guys! I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in various intern events and meeting wonderful people, two of which are Bill Ford and Jim Farley! One standout experience was attending a Tigers Game, where I had the opportunity to connect with fellow FCGs and interns on a personal level. To top it off, we witnessed an exciting victory for the Tigers - WHOO HOO! Join me on this #InternTuesday as I take the @FordCareers Instagram stories for ride during a #DayintheLife as a Ford Intern.
