Fantastic first day of conversation and demonstration focusing on collaboration, expansion, and lessons learned across the extended reality discipline!
It was a great first day at the Oak Ridge Enhanced Technology and Training Center's (#ORETTC) second annual XR Symposium! ORETTC Senior Manager and XR Symposium organizer Dr. MARY LIN, Ed.D. welcomed attendees before Marc A. (IB3 Global Solutions) kicked off the day with his keynote presentation. ORETTC Director Dr. Ashley Stowe delivered a presentation on this year's theme - "Making the Leap: Innovation to Application" - and provided some insight into the work conducted at ORETTC, our mission, and future plans for the campus. Attendees broke into groups and participated in technology demonstrations before gathering for panel discussions in the afternoon. "Technologies that Failed to Launch and Lessons Learned" was moderated by Dr. Ashley Stowe and featured panelists Mike Eakins (University of Central Florida), John Hart (Savannah River Site), and Sean Gleason (IB3), while "Moving from Research to Application" was moderated by ORETTC Instructional Technology Lead Austin Arnwine, M.Ed. and featured panelists Dr. David Metcalf (UCF - METIL), Dr. Vivek Kamat (Florida International University), Victor O. (HaptX Inc.), and ORETTC Instructional and Evaluation Research Lead Dr. Jared H., PhD.
