✨ Celebrating Corridor Managers ✨ The innovative community development initiatives led by the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council address chronic disinvestment in the neighborhood by transforming vacant properties into attractive spaces for potential tenants. By building relationships with property owners and fostering community dialogue, this project aims to revitalize the area and shift its narrative to one of renewed possibility and community pride. We are excited to see this amazing change happen! Learn more about the project at the link below! https://lnkd.in/gp4BdKGx #CommunityRevitalization #BackoftheYards

✨ Celebrating Corridor Managers ✨ LISC is proud to support New Covenant CDC's unique economic development projects. This summer, New Covenant CDC is making space for small entrepreneurs in a park along the Ogden Avenue Corridor by retrofitting shipping containers to serve as temporary business space. This initiative provides local entrepreneurs with affordable retail spaces, fostering community interaction and strengthening the local economy. LISC Chicago is proud to support this mission! I am thrilled to share that our firm Canopy / architecture + design is this year’s recipient of the The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Community Design, Honorable Mention, at this year’s LISC Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards for our Enlace Chicago project. The Enlace building is located just a few blocks from the historic Apollo Theater where the 30th CNDA ceremony was held in Little Village, the neighborhood where I grew up. It was a full circle moment to be awarded for a project we designed in this community. Enlace is doing incredible work to support communities in Little Village; and we were honored to collaborate on their new flagship facility with Blackwood Group LLC. . Thanks again to LISC Chicago for this honor, and congratulations to all the other awardees. We are excited to continue the work to build a stronger Chicago together. #CNDA30 #communitydesign #affordablehousing #chicagodevelopment
