So proud of all the progress we have made in such a short period of time!! We (JCOD) will not celebrate our two year anniversary until November of this year, yet we keep producing. We have a remarkable team and I’m honored to move forward our Board’s “Care First” mission with our fantastic JCOD team members and providers. #LACJCOD #PreTrialServices #PurplePoloPower #LACounty
JCOD is excited to announce the launch of its Independent Pretrial Services Pilot at Airport Courthouse yesterday, July 1st! JCOD court-based navigators, in purple polos, are now on-site everyday offering voluntary linkages to services to individuals in the courthouse hallways or upon their release from custody. JCOD can offer immediate connection to transportation, court reminders, and emergency housing as well as referrals to a wide variety of services including mental health, substance use treatment, education, employment assistance, and civil legal assistance. This JCOD pilot is the culmination of many months of effort and collaboration with Los Angeles Superior Court, health and justice county departments, the Defense Counsel bar, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, multiple City Attorneys offices, as well as invaluable input from many community-based organizations and justice-involved individuals. The next steps for JCOD will be launching voluntary linkages to services at other courthouse locations, as well as launching conditional releases. #LACJCOD #PreTrialServices #PurplePoloPower

🎉 Congratulations to Alliance for Community Empowerment on the grand opening of the House of RUTH! 🏠 The House of RUTH, which stands for “Resilience, Unity, Transformation, and Hope,” provides transitional reentry housing for individuals on a journey of renewal after incarceration. Supported in part by JCOD’s Skills and Experience for the Careers of Tomorrow (SECTOR) employment program, the House of RUTH will be home to 14 justice-impacted SECTOR participants at a time for up to six months as they complete job training in construction or health services. The House of RUTH is located adjacent to ACE’s program site for convenient access to job readiness and supportive services.
