This week MVP provided training for our customer and partners 1MOA GmbH. They will be our German and European partners providing demos, supporting shows, as well as rentals of units to support training. Thanks to Sven Stollenwerk for spending the week with our training team in preparation for receiving their new HEKTRs.

About us
MVP Robotics began as a collaboration between Dartmouth head football coach Buddy Teevens and a group of engineers and athletes from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering and together they developed the world’s first robotic tackling dummy to help reduce unnecessary contacts and the incidence of injuries suffered during football and other sporting practices. In the first 2 years of the robotic tackling dummies (MVP|DRIVES) being available, MVP completely sold out of their MVP|DRIVES to half the NFL, 40+ colleges, and more than 75 high schools. At Dartmouth, concussions were reduced by 58% in the first two seasons of implementing the MVP|DRIVES into practice. The MVP|DRIVES are designed to accurately simulate the size and performance of a human, weighing 190 lbs and reaching speeds of 17 mph. Following the successful development and introduction of the world’s first robotic tackling dummy (MVP|DRIVE) for football, MVP has continued developing their patented robotic system to create HEKTR (Humanoid Engageable Kinetic Training Robot) in order to fit the realistic tactical training needs of the warfighter. HEKTR is a remote-control, fully armored, all-terrain, and responsive live-fire target that simulates a realistic environment by reaching speeds up to 17 mph and providing instantaneous feedback to the shooter. The HEKTR platform is a versatile training tool that forces quick reaction and fluid decision making from operators in any setting, including: house, urban, woodland, desert, ice/snow, and sand. Through the HEKTR mobile app, operators are able to control and customize their training scenarios and thereby integrate HEKTR’s capabilities as part of larger training evolutions.

This week MVP Robotics had the pleasure to represent Dartmouth College at The Science Coalition, Science of Sports for members of Congress, professional staff, and other acadamia in Washington, DC with our robotic tackling dummy. We also were able to support Saab, Inc. for Congressional Marine Day aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico and showcase our integration efforts with Saab’s MCTIS gear and our Humanoid Engageable Kinetic Training Robots (HEKTRs). #thefutureoftraining

The past few weeks have been extremely exciting here at MVP Robotics. We’ve been from one coast to the other showing our revolutionary robotics targets. From ISOF, Modern Day Marine, SOF Week, MARSOC, rounding out this week at Ft Campbell to showcase our capabilities and to demonstrate our new Trango Systems half scale tank target. At the same time our training team has been traveling supporting new customer training at Moody AFB, NSW, and DEVCOM. Exciting times at MVP Robotics.

That’s a wrap! The week long Data Integration Exercise ran by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). First, what a professional organization. We (MVP Robotics, Inc. , Saab, Inc. , Scoring Technologies / JMAP) all learned a lot and pushed our technologies to the edge. What was evident is that with integration amongst industry leaders is that there is nothing we can’t do to better support the warfighter. This event proved that both shooter performance and target data can both be gathered during live fire collective training events to the same granularity as individual events. All of this is then able to provide play by play AARs. We’re excited to continue with our collaboration and look forward to seeing its practical application in the near future.

This picture represents months worth of planning and coordination. This week MVP is participating in a Data Integration Exercise with the Office of Naval Research, Saab, Inc. and Scoring Technologies / JMAP to show that integration of technologies can provide commanders the necessary data to truly evaluate their units during collective live fire training events. In the past, only individual shooter performance or large units using instrumentation were evaluated. This event will hopefully showcase that knowing who shot what, when, how, and why with the ability of a target to shoot back (with lasers) and effect decisions will change the way units train and are evaluated.
