For the 5th consecutive year, the DGS Bureau of Procurement (BOP) has been recognized as a 2024 EPEAT Purchaser Award Winner. The award celebrates leaders in sustainable electronics procurement and comes from the Global Electronics Council (GEC), the nonprofit that manages the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) ecolabel. BOP uses EPEAT to efficiently address the lifecycle impacts of electronics purchased by DGS. The Commonwealth was 1 of 6 states to receive this award. The energy savings produced by BOP’s green electronics purchases are outlined in the graphic below. #sustainability #sustainableprocurement

On June 26, 2024, DGS partnered with the Keystone Contractors Association to host a construction outreach event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex to introduce small businesses (SBs), small diverse businesses (SDBs), and veteran business enterprises (VBEs) to Commonwealth construction opportunities. The event featured 70 vendors and exhibitors focused on familiarizing SBs, SDBs, and VBEs with the Commonwealth’s construction project bidding process. Leaders from both DGS’ Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion, and Small Business Opportunities (BDISBO) and the Bureau of Capital Programs collaborated to offer training, bidding guidance, and information about registering as a SB, SDB, or VBE with DGS.
