Thank you, Turner Paschen Aviation Partners, for the shout out! We were super-excited to be included in the historic O'Hare 21 expansion and modernization project! Our work at the nation's seventh-largest aviation hub was reconfiguring and extending the lower level of Concourse C to open the terminal's footprint for a larger planned expansion. The Turner Paschen Aviation Partners (TPAP) successfully delivered another critical enabling project for the O’Hare 21 Program. This spring, we successfully commissioned the Lower C Concourse (LCE) gates connected to Terminal 1, Concourse C. The project reconfigured Gate C10 and relocated gates C4, C6, and C8 – opening the footprint for the upcoming Satellite 1. Additionally, this project achieved several noteworthy diverse and capacity-building goals. ✅ 32% of the work was completed by MBE & WBE firms. ✅ Two new first-time primes to ORD. CEO & Chairman Mamon Powers Jr. and Vice President Kelly Powers Baria were on hand for a fun (and historic) topping out and beam-signing ceremony at the Obama Presidential Center. Construction on the #Museum Building has risen to its final 225-foot height. Attendees included the man for whom the project is named: the nation’s 44th president, Barack Obama. Everyone had an opportunity to leave their personal mark on the project by signing a beam that will be part of the museum's Sky Room. We are proud of the #OPC team, workforce, subcontractors, and everyone who has and is playing a role in bringing the #construction and #architectural vision for this new #Chicago #landmark to life. Golfing great Arnold Palmer is quoted as saying, “The road to success is always under construction.” (Of course, in our business that’s a good thing.) It was in that spirit that Powers & Sons Construction gathered at Innsbrook Country Club in #Merrillville last week for some friendly competition on the green followed by dinner. Prizes for the longest drive went to Sharon M., the longest putt to Claude Powers, and the longest marshmallow drive to James Jones, with Tim Ervin earning closest to the pin honors. Members of Powers & Sons Construction were on hand to celebrate the official groundbreaking at IPS’ Thomas Carr Howe Middle School. As the construction manager for the project, in joint venture with Davis & Associates, we are proud to work with IPS and the design team to transform this former high school. The project brings improvements that will benefit students and faculty when they return this fall and for years to come. One of many exciting features of the project is the investment IPS is making in the health and wellness of its employees with the first ever myIPS Employee & Family Clinic.
