Congratulations, Khadeem! Your future is SO bright! 🎉
These past years at the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business have taught me a lot, not just in the classroom but about myself. From the SAC's datathon where my team and I were thrilled just to qualify, to juggling senior year responsibilities like work, TAing, an advisory board, and so much more. It's been an incredible journey! I’m grateful to everyone who pushed me to achieve more than I thought possible and helped me to craft the confident leader I am today. I am proud to represent UMD as an alumnus! 🎓 I’m thrilled to also officially announce that I’ll be rejoining Northwestern Mutual's Digital Marketing team in Milwaukee as their new Digital Marketing Associate Manager. Thank you to the many teams at NM who fought hard for me to have this opportunity. Special thanks to Sal Librizzi, Josh Riley, and Kayla Schaffer, for their support and encouragement as mentors and managers over the past year. I am grateful for my professors and the Southern Management Leadership Program for a cohort of friends and three years of amazing challenges. Thank you to the Smith Family for their scholarship, which has allowed me to step into this new chapter debt-free and ready to achieve. Thank you to Laura S., who embodies the acceptance and care I hope all students get to experience from a faculty member. And finally, thanks to my parents, former educators who immigrated with me from Guyana, for instilling in me a passion for education. I am excited to see what this new chapter holds. 📖

Graduate Digital Media Intern @ PenFed Credit Union | Marketing Analytics Graduate Student @ UMD | First Gen College Student | Si Se Puede
As a first-generation college student, it often felt like this day would take forever to arrive. Now that it’s here, I’m filled with an overwhelming sense of pride, joy, and gratitude. The past four years have been marked by numerous challenges and moments of turmoil, but through it all, one thing remained constant: God’s got me! I could not have done this without the unwavering support of my parents, who never had even half of the opportunities I’ve had. My dad's education was cut short at 9th grade, while my mom barely made it past the 6th grade due to poverty. Despite these challenges, they are some of the wisest and most knowledgeable individuals I know. They instilled in me a profound sense of faith, grit, and resilience, qualities that have carried me through every obstacle and paved the way for my achievements. To my amazing friends and family, your constant presence as my pillars of strength means everything. Thank you for your enduring love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Completing a bachelors degree while simultaneously pursuing a master’s degree AND graduating debt free is truly a dream come true. Thank you University of Maryland & University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business I’ll see you soon in the fall 🎓 Thank you The Universities at Shady Grove for providing an amazing satellite campus & a great community filled with hardworking students and supporting faculty & staff Lastly, shoutout to my Southern Management Leadership Program family ❤️ I hold each person in this amazing program very close to my heart! B.S in Marketing, minors in Technology Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation ✅ M.S in Marketing Analytics coming soon 📈 #graduate #UMD #GoTerps #firstgencollegestudent #SiSePudo

Congratulations, Nafisah! Best of luck on your next journey!🎓
I am thankful for this chapter in my life that has granted me lifelong learning and an even greater appreciation for advancing research on social justice and racial equity. I’m proud to officially be a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s in criminology and criminal justice, along with a double minor in technology entrepreneurship and corporate innovation & global poverty. Special thanks to the Southern Management Leadership Program and Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows (RULF) Program. In addition, after being accepted to Duke University, the University of Southern California, the University of Minnesota and the University of Maryland for the School of Public Policy. I am pleased to continue at my alma mater where I plan to explore and amplify research on our most pressing social issues. Thank you to each and every person who has supported me along the way!
