Privacy changes in the advertising industry

Protecting member data and privacy continues to be top of mind for LinkedIn and our members, and the broader advertising industry. Reliance on third-party cookies has started to decline as browsers and devices increase restrictions of third-party tracking and new regulations take effect. These trends require marketers to use new privacy-enhancing approaches to reach the right audiences, serve personalized messaging across channels, and measure results.

To help you navigate these changes, we’ve included a brief overview of key industry changes with the option to learn more about how these changes may impact your ads.

Platform policies

  • Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework - With Apple’s framework, all iOS users are automatically opted out of ad tracking.   • Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) - Apple’s Safari web browser and iOS limit third-party cookie tracking. Learn more about what these changes mean for LinkedIn.
