“Sally has been a part of my team at hCentive since July of 2014. She came to us as support for the recruiting team but quickly displayed her keen ability to organize, plan, and execute a variety of different projects. During her time with hCentive Sally displayed her strengths in communication, detail orientation, and dedication. On our small human resources team Sally had the opportunity to touch various aspects of our operation. She worked on employee training, events, performance management, travel and several other projects that required these skills. Sally repeatedly showed her commitment to quality in every email she wrote, event she planned and meeting she held for employees. And when we encountered challenges with outside vendors or other departments I could always count on her to handle the situation with tact, respect, and discretion. She is a very dedicated, honest, hard working person and would be an asset to any HR team. ”

Although this is written for the civilian workplace, I think it applies to our military teams as well. Check it out! It discusses the changing dynamics of workplace culture and employees' desires for the upcoming year. What are they? 💲 Personalized Employee Experiences 💲 Focus on Well-being 💲 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) 💲 Technology and Human Connection 💲 Purpose-Driven Work As someone who has served in the Air Force for 30 years, I think this speaks to our values of leadership, camaraderie, and adaptability, which are fundamental to our success! #EmployeeWellness #RemoteWorkRevolution #CareerGrowth #EmployeeAppreciation #LeadershipDevelopment #InclusiveWorkplace

Military Recruiting 101 (Skillbridge/CSP…Career Skills Program) These are critical to enhancing a successful transition for military members. 1. They help demonstrate the value of military members soft and hard skills to potential employers. 2. They can also dispel bias and misunderstandings of what Veterans are like to work with. 3. To expand on 2…if these transitioning military members are coming in doing what they have done for the military already, they need very little “training”. It’s more about showing them the subtle differences your company uses (if any). I’m told it is much more collaborative than “training” by a mentor I reached out too. Successful Veterans are one of the best things for military recruiting.

The top challenge that transitioning military members face when leaving the service is the lack of information on starting their A&P (Airframe and Powerplant certification) process. If you or someone you know is experiencing this challenge, your first step should be to contact the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in your local area. Click here to find your nearest FSDO: [https://lnkd.in/gjfDMYws). For aircraft mechanics looking to obtain their A&P, please note that there are minimum requirements – notably, 30 months of practical experience. If you meet this requirement, there is no need to attend school; you also do not need to go through the military's A&P certification process. While you can choose this route, it will ultimately result in the same 8610-2 forms and authorizations. I personally recommend using the program mentioned above if you don’t have enough practical experience. For instance, if you specialize in avionics and lack powerplant experience, I highly recommend either going through the program or gaining the required experience. If you are a recruiter, HR professional, or director of maintenance, it's valuable to note that the military offers numerous resources. I suggest getting in touch with the Joint Service Aviation Maintenance Technical Certification Council. They have extensive knowledge to support service members in their A&P certification process. Here's a PDF https://lnkd.in/gWm8HHyQ For those aspiring to obtain their A&P, feel free to DM me. I am available for FREE one-on-one guidance to set you on the right path. I am with Tucson Aviation, and we are building a community for aspiring Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) aiming to get their A&P certification. The community is over 100 members and we continue to grow! Join us here: [https://lnkd.in/gjU-3h3S).

What great values Amy! Although I have not started my HR career as I am transitioning out of the Air Force, these are the values that I recognize in myself that I do plan to take into my career. As a human resources professional, I believe that the heart of any organization lies in its people. The three core values that guide my career—trust, resiliency, and humor—shape everything I do. 🔑 Trust Building trust is at the core of my approach. I focus on transparent communication and ethical practices to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and confident in their roles and the organization. 🌄 Resiliency HR can be challenging, but I see every hurdle as an opportunity to grow and innovate. I thrive on supporting employees through change and continuously improving processes to better meet everyone's needs. 🥁 Humor I believe that a good laugh can go a long way. I bring a sense of humor to my work to create a positive and engaging atmosphere. Laughter helps reduce stress, build stronger team connections, and make the workplace more enjoyable and productive.

Building a family can be even more challenging for service members and their spouses. However, surrogacy offers a beautiful path to parenthood for intended parents within the military community. This allows us to connect military families with compatible surrogates who understand the demands of military life and can offer the flexibility needed. Are There Templates For Employee Handbooks Available To Me? There are many templates for employee handbooks available, which can serve as a great starting point for creating your own. Here are a few options to find templates: 1. Online HR Resources: Websites like SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), Workable, and Rocket Lawyer offer a range of resources, including templates for employee handbooks. Some of these may require membership or a fee. 2. Legal Services: Online legal services like LegalZoom or Nolo often provide templates tailored to comply with general legal standards. These services might also offer customization options for your specific state or industry requirements. 3. HR Software: Many HR software platforms provide tools to help create and distribute employee handbooks. These platforms might also ensure that your handbook stays compliant with any updates in employment laws. 4. Professional Consultants: HR consultants or legal professionals can provide personalized assistance in creating an employee handbook that meets all legal requirements and aligns with your company culture and policies. 5. Free Online Templates: A simple web search can yield free templates that can be downloaded and customized. Be cautious with these to ensure they meet the specific legal requirements of your location and sector. When using a template, it's important to customize it to your organization's specific needs. Consider factors like your business size, location, industry, culture, and specific operational practices. It's also highly advisable to have the final document reviewed by a legal professional or an HR expert to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. This step is crucial because an outdated or legally inaccurate handbook can create rather than mitigate legal risks.

Bitline: Cybersecurity, Simplified
🚨 𝐎𝐏𝐌 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐞-𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 🚨 As many of you know, the federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) was hacked, compromising data on 21.5 million people. The agency's director resigned, but what does this hack mean for us? 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: OPM is like the government's HR department. They handle background checks for sensitive positions. The data stolen is now in the hands of whoever hacked it. From 2009 to June this year, I worked at NIH and needed a Public Trust clearance, which required filling out form SF-85P. This form included: - Personal details: name, address, DOB, SSN - Physical traits: height, weight, hair color, eye color - Family info: spouse’s and parents’ details - Residence and employment history - References and educational background - Foreign trips and interactions - Financial and criminal records Several months into my job, an agent interviewed me about my background and connections, checking for potential security risks. It was thorough. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡: After the hack, OPM offered affected individuals 18 months of credit monitoring. An email from Acting Deputy Secretary Mary K. Wakefield reassured us about increased security measures. But is that enough? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: The stolen data goes beyond credit card numbers. It includes detailed personal histories, relationships, and even biometrics. This information can’t be simply reissued. The implications are severe, especially for those with high-level security clearances. This hack has exposed our most sensitive information, potentially to foreign adversaries. The repercussions are vast and lasting. It’s time for real accountability and robust cybersecurity measures to protect our personal data. #CyberSecurity #DataBreach #OPMHack #InformationSecurity #FederalEmployees #PublicTrust #PersonalData #CyberThreats #DataProtection #Accountability #InfoSec #CyberAwareness #DigitalSafety #PrivacyMatters #TechNews #CyberDefense #SecurityBreach #StaySafeOnline #TechSecurity #OnlineSafety #DataPrivacy #GovernmentData #HackerNews #SecurityFlaw #DataBreachResponse #ProtectYourData #DigitalSecurity #CyberProtection #IdentityTheft #InformationBreach #CyberAccountability #SecurityMeasures #DataIntegrity #CyberAttack #SecurityAwareness #TechResponsibility #InfoProtection #OnlineThreats #CyberVigilance #DataBreachImpact #DigitalResilience #DataSecurity #TechResponsibility #ProtectYourself #StayAlert #CyberSafety
