I am just coming back from a truly inspiring #GoogleIOConnect 🚀 where I had the pleasure to deliver our keynote together with Jeanine Banks, Christina Decker, Tim Messerschmidt, Paul Kinlan, and Abdelfettah SGHIOUAR. Over 1300 developers from over 100 countries came together in Berlin to experience and discuss the latest innovations in the field of #AI. My conclusion: #GenerativeAI will change the future of technology as we know it and I am proud that Google is continuously investing in open exchange, partnerships and research to further promote the potential of #GenerativeAI and, above all, to do this responsibly and to make it accessible to everyone. My highlights of this year's conference: ➤ Jeanine Banks's update on the progress in #Gemini, Google's multimodal AI models that open up even more possibilities for developers. My recommendation: Experiment with our most powerful Gemini models in #GoogleAIStudio (ai.google.dev/aistudio) and integrate the #GeminiAPI into your own applications. In collaboration with Udacity, you can also register for a free course on the Gemini API at goo.gle/udacity! Further training for AI beginners is also available here: https://lnkd.in/dkrMmN_w ➤ In a conversation with Christina Decker from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, it became clear: Cooperation between politics, companies and developers is more important than ever to ensure the responsible development of AI and to use new technologies for the benefit of society. Thank you Christina Decker for this exciting discussion! 💬 ➤ Now available: #Gemma2, the next generation of Google's open source AI models. All information about the launch can be found in the blog post 👉 https://lnkd.in/dXT4VRzY ➤ Digital Sovereignty is not nice to have, but something EMEA cares a lot about. We have solutions out there and we keep investing in the region in our Sovereign Cloud solutions and also in infrastructure, such as the new sub sea fiber-optic cable between Africa and Australia! ➤ And I can just repeat what I said in the keynote, I experienced the beginnings of the #WorldWideWeb in Silicon Valley and everyone at the time felt that something big is happening and it changed the world of technology as we know it. And here we are again, 30 years later and I have the same sense, something really big is happening with #genAI and it will yet again change the world of technology as we know it! I/O Connect was also a great opportunity to network and exchange ideas with the Google Developer Experts. The exciting discussions, workshops and demos in Berlin clearly show that the #EMEA region is an important driver for AI innovation. I am super inspired by the energy and spirit of innovation that was felt at the conference. Thanks everyone 🙏 for making this happen, and very special thanks to Leticia Lago de Lanzós Bunzl and Neta Dumai, you're rock stars! See you all next year! 🦾
