⚜ On June 27, the Québec Government Office in Washington welcomed students from The George Washington University's U.S. Foreign Policy Summer Program, which explores the complex factors that shape U.S. foreign policy. Our Delegate, Benjamin Bélair, presented Québec's key industrial sectors and the importance of bilateral commerce with the United States. Thanks to Mark Croatti and this year's student cohort for your visit!   ⚜ Le 27 juin dernier, la Délégation du Québec à Washington a accueilli des élèves du programme d'été U.S. Foreign Policy, organisé par George Washington University. Ce programme se penche notamment sur des facteurs complexes qui contribuent au développement de la politique étrangère des États-Unis. Notre délégué, Benjamin Bélair, a fait connaître aux élèves les principaux secteurs industriels du Québec aussi bien que leur portée en matière de commerce bilatérale avec les États-Unis. Un grand merci à Mark Croatti et la cohorte scolaire d'être passés chez nous!

⚜ On Wednesday, June 26th, Québec's Government Office in Washington, DC volunteered with DC Central Kitchen, helping to prepare hundreds of healthy breakfasts and lunches. Connaissez-vous le DCCK? DCCK permet notamment de fournir des repas aux écoles du District de Columbia avec des produits frais provenant directement de la ferme. Ils livrent également des produits frais et abordables dans des quartiers du District qui n’ont pas accès à des supermarchés. ⚜ Le 20 juin dernier, la Délégation du Québec à Washington a accueilli une mission parlementaire composée du leader du gouvernement, Simon Jolin-Barrette, et du leader de l’opposition officielle, Monsef DERRAJI, MBA, Ph.D , ASC – C.Dir. à l’occasion de leur participation à la NCSL (National Conference of State Legislatures). Notre Délégué, Benjamin B��lair, a ainsi pu faire une présentation sur les élections américaines et présenter l’équipe de la délégation du Québec. #AssembléenationaleduQuébec

⚜ On June 19, the Delegate of the Québec Government Office in Washington, Benjamin Bélair, addressed the 2nd Council Meeting of the Global Environment Facility's Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF). Created to support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the GBFF's goals are aligned with Québec's commitments to advance biodiversity. Mr. Bélair's remarks were an ideal occasion to highlight the importance of subnational governments in the implementation of these important initiatives. 🌎 #GBFF #GEFcouncil67 ⚜ Le 19 juin dernier, le Délégué du Québec à Washington, Benjamin Bélair, a pris la parole lors du 2e Conseil du Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF), une initiative du Fonds pour l’environnement mondial. Destiné à soutenir la mise en œuvre du Cadre mondial pour la biodiversité de Kunming-Montréal, le mandat du GBFF s’arrime avec les engagements du Québec en matière de biodiversité. L’allocution de M. ⚜ This week, there was a significant Québec presence at Benchmark GiGA USA 2024. This conference took place in Washington DC. The Québec Government Office in Washington was there and held important meetings to promote mining development and the battery sector in Québec. ⚜ Cette semaine, il y avait une importante présence du Québec à l'événement Benchmark GiGA USA 2024 qui se déroulait à Washington. La Délégation du Québec à Washington y était et en a profité pour faire d’importantes rencontres afin de promouvoir le développement minier et la filière batterie au Québec. ⚜ On the international scene, the government of Québec is investing in the promotion and advancement of LGBTQIA+ rights. Québec Government Office in Washington was at the LGBTQIA+ flag-raising ceremony at the John A. Wilson Building on Monday, June 3rd. This ceremony is part of the Pride Month festivities, and it was organized by the LGBTQIA+ Affairs Office, an office put in place within the administration of the City of Washington DC. Happy PRIDE! 🌈 #QuébecLGBTQ #MoisDeLaFierté Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec DC Mayor Muriel Bowser ************************************************** ⚜Sur la scène internationale, le gouvernement du Québec s’investit dans la promotion et l’avancement des droits des personnes LGBTQIA+. La Délégation du Québec à Washington DC était présente lors de la cérémonie de la levée du drapeau LGBTQIA+ au John A. Wilson Building lundi le 3 juin dernier. Cette cérémonie était organisée par le bureau des affaires LGBTQIA+ mise en place par au sein de la mairie de Washington DC dans le cadre les festivités du mois de la fierté. BONNE FIERTÉ! 🌈

⚜ Pendant l'année scolaire 2023-2024, la Délégation du Québec à Washington a été jumelée avec Hardy Middle School dans le cadre du Embassy Adoption Program, un programme éducatif unique qui expose les étudiants du District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) à des perspectives internationales et à des enseignements interculturels. Ce programme, créé en 1974, est un programme de partenariat entre DCPS et Washington Performing Arts. Derrick Lambert et Bob Maurice de notre équipe se sont rendus à deux reprises à l'école afin d'aider les élèves à mieux connaître et apprécier l'histoire et la culture québécoises, puis la classe entière s'est rendue à Embassy of Canada | Ambassade du Canada le 30 mai dernier pour visiter les lieux et présenter leur projet Capstone. Merci à ceux et celles qui ont apporté leur soutien à ce beau projet, et surtout aux élèves pour leur engagement tout au long du programme!  ____________ ⚜ During the 2023-2024 school year, the Délégation du Québec à Washington was paired with Hardy Middle School as part of the Embassy Adoption Program (EAP), a unique partnership program that exposes District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) students to international perspectives and cross-cultural lessons. Established in 1974, the EAP is a partnership program of DCPS and Washington Performing Arts. Derrick Lambert and Bob Maurice from our team visited the school twice to help students better understand and appreciate Québec history and culture, and the entire class went on a field trip on May 30 to visit the Embassy of Canada | Ambassade du Canada and present their Capstone project. Thanks to everyone whose support made this year's EAP partnership a reality, and especially to the Hardy Middle School students for their enthusiasm throughout!
