Information Fiduciary, a concept for today's world?
I do believe we conflate anonymity and privacy, much of what we now want protected for privacy's sake, are only private as a result of living our lives mostly anonymously, compared to living in smaller towns and communities, where the lack of anonymity reduces the perceived privacy.
That mouthful said, in cyberspace, our data is us and we are our data. As firms offer services to their customers, they have a duty to respect and protect their customer, which means respecting and protecting their data.
