📣 On this #MentorMonday, we want to show off some of the things our mentors do that are outside the realm of what you might think is mentoring! 📣 🌟 One of our newest mentors, Bijoy Shah, recently met with some of the Program Managers within our pod to talk about the type of content that might be valuable to later stage startups (as our team works constantly to find ways to make our program even better). The insight he was able to provide—having experience working with and seeing startups from a ventures perspective—was invaluable! 🌟 This is yet another great example of the ways our mentors positively impact our program. We are so thankful for Bijoy and his fellow Agtech and Animal Health mentors!

📣 In today's #MentorMonday post, we'd like to shoutout Maria-Francesca Steyn, MBA, MSCE! 📣 Maria joined our mentor network midway through last program and wasted NO time diving in head first. Notably, she has been working on some time-intensive research to help one of our batch startups create potential partner profiles and to better understand the market as the team looks to expand into the U.S. Throughout this project, Maria has also engaged with two of our corporate champions, from whom she is working to even better understand the industry. To say that we're blown away by the effort and time Maria is volunteering is an understatement. 🌟 Our mentors are consistently ranked by startups as one of the most (often times THE most) impactful aspects of our program. Great commentary across the board at the Western Growers Biologicals Summit out in Salinas this week. Particularly interesting commentary from (Bill) Buckner - CEO, Harpe Bio (paraphrased): "Measuring a baseline of soil microbial health and existing fungal strains on farm and across the ecosystem is the true unlock for adoption for bio-stimulants and biocontrols." I couldn't agree more. This, and enabling hardware and sensing, is certainly an investment focus for my team and something we'll continue to develop. For reference, I'd also include uptake analysis, leaf tissue and Volatile Organic Compound analysis within the same scope. Agree, disagree?
