Max Kaiser: “I come from an entrepreneurial family - my father is an artist and my mother had a graphic agency. Thus, the idea of founding my own company was always there. After working for two tech scale ups, I felt I had the right experience. Then, we stumbled on a big problem that solves a significant problem: to facilitate mindsets for climate change. Once we found that, it was the right moment to start Empacto.”   Lena S.: “There are three things that are non-negotiable for me: I always want to learn new things. I want to bring the things I do to an excellent level with the greatest commitment. My work must serve a good purpose. That's why I love working at Empacto so much.”   Jonas Petry: “I did not plan to become an entrepreneur, it evolved over time. The first spark was the entrepreneurship lecture at TUM. Then I joined Manage and More by UnternehmerTUM and found my co-founders for my last startup cirqus. To learn more about them, we went straight to the source and asked the OrthoCoPilot team directly:   ❔ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗖𝗼𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁? “OrthoCoPilot is an AI-assistant that provides medical and administrative support to medical professionals to help improve capacity utilization, boost cost efficiency and provide more personalized care. Our top 3:  -         Receiving a grant of € 20.000 from AI+MUNICH -         Joining TUM Venture Labs Healthcare -         Signing two pilot projects with a large German client with over 80 practices   🚧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺? “During the past 18 months, we have been working on OrthoCoPilot next to our full-time jobs or studies. In that time, we managed to assemble enough funds to build our MVP. Now we can get strong pilot results and then raise a pre-seed round by Q2 2024 to build a team that works on OrthoCoPilot full-time.”   🤝 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱? “Don’t forget what really matters. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸, Professor at LMU Munich 🎙 Dr. Tina Kluewer, Head of "Research for Technological Sovereignty and Innovation" at Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung 🎙 Dr. Andreas Liebl, Managing Director of appliedAI Initiative GmbH 🎙 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, Director at MCML and Professor at TUM   𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆? He envisions an "Airbus model" for AI, reducing inefficiencies and optimizing data usage.   🔍 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 Barbara Plank highlighted the dominance of large languages like English and German in AI. Developing models for smaller languages, such as through Bavaria's "Bayern GPT," is both a challenge and an opportunity, preserving endangered and ancient languages.   🔍 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Tina Klüwer emphasized the strength of our local talent and education systems. Beyond the race for "big" AI models, we should focus on related technologies like neuromorphic chips and quantum tech, prioritizing data efficiency and computational problem-solving.   🔍 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 Andreas Liebl underscored the importance of practical training for local managers, industries, and decision-makers to maximize the potential of AI applications. Successful AI tool implementation requires extensive training.   🔍 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝘀. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 Daniel Cremers pointed out that while machines excel at specific tasks, they struggle with generalization.
