Saint Peter’s Healthcare System (“Saint Peter’s”) has entered into a definitive agreement with Atlantic Health System (“Atlantic”) to expand their strategic partnership, whereby Atlantic will become Saint Peter’s sole corporate member. This significant milestone builds upon their shared history of collaboration and aligned mission, vision and values. Both organizations will continue working toward obtaining the necessary federal, state and church approvals before the transaction can be completed. Cone Health, a nonprofit health care network based in North Carolina, has entered into a definitive agreement to become the second health system to join Risant Health, a nonprofit, charitable organization created by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals to bring together like-minded organizations and increase access to value-based care and coverage. Kaufman Hall is proud to honor and celebrate Juneteenth by educating our colleagues on its history, impact, and significance. Recently, the Black ERG hosted two events to commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate Black history and culture. The first event was a virtual cooking class led by our own, Laura Moore, where participants learned the history behind the main dish, Mac & Cheese, and engaged in discussions about Juneteenth in a collaborative environment. The second event was a luncheon, with catering from a Black-owned restaurant in Chicago, Cleo's Southern Cuisine. This luncheon allowed colleagues to gather, spend time together, and delve deeper into the facts and significance of Juneteenth. In a new blog, Ken Kaufman considers two hard and conflicting realities that #hospitals and #healthsystems face. The first reality is that partnerships will continue to be a necessary and critical part of #healthcarestrategy, particularly as financial performance and patient access continue to be pervasive and ongoing problems for hospitals.
