Summer has taken full effect here in Virginia Beach, and with it comes some VERY hot summer days! Although this kind of weather can make for great beach days, it also presents some risks. Sunburn, heat exaustion, heat stroke, and more can all become serious if left unaddressed. Be sure to take precutions to protect yourself and your loved ones as this summer heats up! #USNavy #NAVSEA #nswcdddna #ItsInOurDNA #SummerSafety Naval Safety Command

🎊⚓️Hooray! The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Turns 50 Today! NAVSEA, the largest of the Navy’s six systems commands responsible for the building, buying, maintaining, and inactivation of ships, submarines and systems, celebrates its 50th anniversary, July 1. Created on July 1, 1974 from the merging of the former Naval Ship Systems Command and the Naval Ordnance Systems Command, and with shipbuilding origins dating back more than two centuries, NAVSEA has maintained its commitment to supporting the public and the US Navy’s Fleet. Today is National PTSD Awareness Day, in recognition of the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. There are approximately 12 million people in the United States who have PTSD, but many do not get the help and care that they need. Managing PTSD is possible, and can be done in several ways. Some find that talking with a trained doctor or counselor is helpful, while others have prescription medication to help with feelings of fear, depression, or anxiety. If you or a loved one is in a mental health crisis, know you are not alone. There are resources available to help. Visit https://lnkd.in/eSSqwTR to view the various benefits and resources offered to service members, veterans, and military families, or dial 988 and press 1 to connect to the crisis hotline. #USNavy #NAVSEA #nswcdddna #ItsInOurDNA #PTSDAwarenessMonth #PTSDAwarenessDay
