  • 🥁 And our Supervisor of the Quarter (Q2) is…John Chambles, Acquisition and Readiness Assessment Department! John Chambles provides exceptional management of resources in support of technical execution for the Ship Maintenance Data Improvement Initiative (SMDII). Since 2020, John has transformed the work culture of SMDII workforce into a steady technical organization that can quickly adapt to executive requirements from SEA21D, to include Rear Admiral (RADM) Greene, and formally RADM Anderson when he was at SEA21D, and SEA21D Director Josey Wales. In 2024, John's leadership was critical in the expansion to public shipyards which resulted in the initiation of a new $7.5M tasking for FY24. Since his promotion to AR51 Branch Head, John has demonstrated effective communication, active listening, and empowerment of project leads, setting a standard for initiative and positive change.   • 💥 Smoke Grenade Surveillance Test 💥 NSWC Corona recently conducted an improved surveillance test of a variety of 40mm smoke grenades on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.   • Kathryn Stewart, Business Director of Navy Region Southwest, visited our Measurement Science and Technology Lab last month which engineers, manufactures, tests, and certifies Navy gages used to ensure the critical dimensional tolerances of missiles, ammunition, SEA and AIR gun barrels, and small arms for the US Navy and United States Marine Corps.
