Fences are down on the 16th Street Mall between Larimer and Lawrence streets! Over the next couple of weeks, you will see small areas of isolated fencing within the block while the project team and the Downtown Denver Partnership install public seating, planters, and other finishing touches on the block. The Frederick Douglass Park Family Center is officially open! The new family center, rich in community history and significance, is now the largest in the Indy Parks and Recreation system and will serve as a hub for social connection in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood. As a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), it was an honor to provide Landscape Architecture services for this park, which was rooted in segregation in 1921 and known as the first park in Indianapolis to welcome Black residents. Shrewsberry is partnering with Indy Parks to host an open house on May 22 to discuss improvements to Al E. Polin Park. This event offers residents a valuable opportunity to share input on potential upgrades that will enhance the park for all visitors. Shrewsberry was honored to participate in the first-ever Darian J. Wiley Campus Day, held Friday, April 5, at Arsenal Tech. #TeamShrewsberry worked alongside students for a school-wide cleanup, planting trees, painting trash cans, organizing the food pantry, and laying new pavers on campus. Darian, a 2015 Arsenal Tech graduate and dedicated ACE Mentor Indiana, was a Project Engineer for our Construction Services team in Indianapolis.
