While the cloud software companies do not have the expected growth, there is need for continued investment in AI/ GenAI, to be competitive as customers look for solutions with AI in them. AI/ GenAI is still in early stages, the no. of use cases going past POC into production is about 2 to3 per 100. As mentioned in the article, earlier cloud was mostly sold with cost as the primary value proposition followed by time to market and scale (for growth). Whereas with AI, it is based on the 'value' created, by amplifying the potential across the entire business process value chain. Also to get the quantum leap with AI, it is required to reimagine the complete business process in an AI first manner, and skills to map business process and technology that closely is scarce. Demonstrating value is also a long process, need to remain invested with lot of consulting and experimentation.

Forming the right team for a task is tough, but the discussion on, how to choose between 'competent jerks' and 'lovable fools' is very practical here.

As #Technology led #digitaltransformation accelerates in large #enterprises, product centric mindset and #agile ways of working become mainstream. This needs a change to the engagement model with #technology outsourcing partners for the enterprises and all three major stakeholders have to change their approach to ensure joint success.

There is an interesting perspective presented on why it is good to partner with these technology-driven innovative companies and not acquire them. It is the ecosystem that these companies exist help them being innovative in the fast-changing landscape. So, they need to remain in that environment but have a partnership model which would help adopt the innovation from these companies. Though it is in the context of Pharma, it would be applicable across all industry segments and even pureplay technology companies.

The rate of growth of AI, and hence the energy needs might not be fully met with the renewable energy sources with #solar and #wind. Battery storage adoption is still in initial stages and going 100% renewable 365 days a year would be quite challenging. #Fossil fuel provides the base capacity in many geographies and hence the grid stability when renewables are added to the grid. So, when fossil fuel-based power generators are taken away from the grid, would nuclear make a comeback? In a recent interview (https://lnkd.in/g-GMxhC4) #Billgates always talks about #Terrapower, the #nuclearpower company that he backs, how nuclear power generation will come back in a safe way.

Simplicity of #Indian technology makes it extremely tamper proof, integrated and scaled, a great large democracy process is executed with ease and predictability. Reducing complexity in the solution stack is key to improve #resilience and improve #maintainability. Unfortunately in my job, I see everyone starting with a statement that this is complicated or extremely complex. Key to building successful solution, is to uncomplicate things and bring in #modularity (to do one job really well) and #composability (to be a good team player in a larger ecosystem). Like in an orchestra if you are a good team player, the conductor can create a great symphony.

As development and #industrialization propels forward, exploiting of #naturalresources and care for the further generations seems to be diminishing. It could be argued that the future generations would have better technology possibly to clean the #environment (land, water and #space). But begin responsible in usage of resources is essential and it is more humane and #planet friendly. Should we find a commercial value proposition for doing anything for helping the environment? If there is commercial reason, it is easier to invest, else it has to be treated on par with safety while investing.

While #nickel is key metal for the #battery that is helping the #ev transformation, the sourcing/ mining should be done in a responsible way, which reduces ecological impact and brings in development for the people who live in the region. #Indonesia nickel industry moving up the value chain and retain the profits of the value created with its people is a good change. Also the major consumers of these metals need to take accountability of the entire value chain. (Something like EU's new carbon reporting, which needs to account for the entire chain). Outsource manufacturing or global procurement does not mean any drop in accountability from mining to finished products. https://lnkd.in/efybs8mX
