3 takeaways on design and branding as a value creator in the consumer landscape. Recently, we "double-clicked" on a compelling story highlighting Walmart's success in this area. Kudos to Walmart for standing up this new brand Bettergoods #design #branding #consumerlandscape
Loved that you posted this article Mortimer! The material impact of a brand on a company's overall value is so often overlooked in strategy development and bringing the voice of the customer is often missing a seat at the table in corporate boardrooms. Thank you for drawing attention to this story. As a side note, the optics of how Trader Joe's operates more profitably than Big Box grocery chains and nurtures a crazy-loyal customer base are captured in the WSJ video. I thought you might enjoy it. https://www.wsj.com/video/series/the-economics-of/how-trader-joes-beat-out-conventional-supermarkets-by-offering-less/8E5841F0-665F-417C-8C4E-CAE20EFB9E4F
Mortimer, great post. Walmart is wise. Elevating a value proposition as a key strategy is critical for sustainability and long-term competitive success.
Very interesting. And love the video.
So true…going to need to riff off this one!
Morty, love 3 in 30 sec and video aspect. Thanks for sharing!

1moYou post sings to me, Mortimer. There are so many ways to differentiate and elevate in branding and design whch enhance the value of the product and tell a more compelling story to the consumer. It's the little things that are big. And they don't have to cost a lot. The big-boxes keep getting better at the little things. Because it's (almost) never about the price. And because they have to.
