🌍 Recognizing the pressing need to address environmental impacts and protect #Biodiversity, Ecotone is proud to be one of the first companies to participate in the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) engagement program. SBTN is a global coalition of environmental experts and NGOs that leverages scientific solutions to reduce corporate environmental impacts and restore nature, in alignment with rigorous scientific objectives. As a leading #Organic company, we understand the challenges of working with common international data at these scales, particularly for organic products. To bridge this gap, Ecotone has undertaken its own analyses to enrich the global database with vital information. By participating in SBTN’s pioneering work, Ecotone is testing the target-setting methods for freshwater and land. Yes, we advocate for biodiversity, but let’s talk about carbon and greenhouse gases today! 🌾 We’ve been measuring our emissions for over ten years – working out where they come from and how we can go about reducing them. In the past years, we changed the way we calculate our #Carbon footprint for a more robust but more accurate method : ✅ Automatic data collection ✅ New and improved emission factors (that means transforming a physical activity into a quantity of greenhouse gases) ✅ The inclusion of our own emission factors for coffee, cocoa, oats and almonds ✅Taking into account the impact of our suppliers producing our products ✅Overall refinement of the methodology used to calculate the impact of our raw materials. Looking ahead, we’ll fine-tune our scope 3 emissions examination based on our new emissions factors, reflecting our strategic raw materials and sourcing processes.
