Enlightening couple of days at the INCOSE International Symposium #INCOSEIS The presentation material was of an exceptionally high standard. Kudos to all of the speakers and paper authors who delivered some really thought-provoking content. Highlights include: - Embracing AI to enhance systems engineering practice; - Data and distributed decision making; - Working ‘smarter’ in MBSE; - Drawing systems engineering inspiration from nature (and understanding positive emergent behaviour); - Delivering effective technical leadership in increasingly complex and uncertain contexts. Lots to digest both for Synoptix and INCOSE UK going forward. On a personal note, it was a privilege to finally engage in person with my international colleagues and coaches from the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute. After 3 years of online workshops and collaboration this was long overdue. Honoured to Keynote at INCOSE International Symposium 2024 in Dublin I had the privilege of speaking at the 34th Annual INCOSE International Symposium at the Dublin Convention Centre. This prestigious event July 2-6 brought together over 1,000 international attendees, showcasing our beautiful capital to systems engineering experts from around the globe. My keynote, "AI in Action: Current Applications Transforming the World Their Unintended Consequences," explored the transformative impact of AI on our field. It was truly my "happy place" to delve into both the serious implications and humorous unintended consequences of AI adoption - think "AI meets Freakonomics"! The day was action packed filled with enriching experiences: • Delivered the main keynote • Presented to the Corporate Advisory Board • Led an afternoon session on "Leadership in the Age of AI" for the TLI It was a proud moment to contribute to the global dialogue on AI's role in systems engineering. The enthusiasm and engagement from attendees reinforced the critical importance of this topic in our rapidly evolving industry.
