If you blinked, you missed it: UnitedHealth just announced it will start notifying those whose private data may have been exposed in the #ChangeHealthcare ransomware attack. They are offering free credit monitoring, which, as our co-founder, CTO and in-house banking industry expert Boe Hartman says, is the quintessential example of putting a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. Letters will be in victims' mailboxes soon, but UnitedHealth said "it may not have addresses for all of them," Amina N. of Reuters reports. Where is the outrage?

The three most common drugs utilized by members on insurance plans self-funded by their employers: 1. Trulicy (antidiabetic) 2. Sumatriptan (antimigraine) 3. Mounjaro (antidiabetic) In our recent Trends in Spend analysis, we looked at nearly 140 million prescription claims in 2022 and 2023 to determine what’s fueling the unsustainable increase in prescription spend for employers. Here's what we discovered — and what employers can do about it.

We looked at $23 billion in prescription drug claims from 11.5 million employees over a two-year period and found that biologics used to treat autoimmune and inflammatory disorders are the most expensive individual drugs contributing to prescription spend.
