As a Product Owner with a logistics background, I find joy in using technology to help people solve their challenges. #RealTimeGPSTracking is just one of the many tools! Track the cargo, not the truck!
Following a successful Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) conference in San Antonio, Texas, I had the privilege of attending a productive meeting at United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). Whenever I am at headquarters, I make sure to walk through the National Donor Memorial, a must-see for anyone in or around the Richmond, VA area! #OrganTransplant #AOPO #Transplant #Healthcare #UNOS

Energized and inspired after attending my first UNOS Primer at their headquarters! As the new Learning and Development Manager for Lifesharing, being introduced to a central cog of organ donation and transplantation feels like a true privilege. Thank you, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), for the warm welcome. UNOS's vision of 'A life-saving transplant for everyone in need' and their mission to 'Unite and strengthen the donation and transplant community to save lives' deeply resonate with me. Seeing these principles in action has reinforced the profound impact of our collective mission. I'm also grateful to Lifesharing | A Donate Life Organization for investing in my growth and empowering me to contribute meaningfully to this vital cause. Excited to apply these insights as I work towards making a difference in organ procurement and transplantation. #UNOSPrimer2024 #OrganDonation #ProfessionalDevelopment

Living kidney donation saves thousands of lives every year. But when it comes to living kidney donations to infants and children, UNOS biostatistician Alexandra Lewis wanted to dive deeper. Are pediatric patients receiving fewer living donations? Are outcomes different by donor type? Join Alexandra at ATC as she presents her research in the Poster Hall today from 9:15-10 and 2:30-3:15. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the nuances of living kidney donation for our youngest patients. #ATC2024Philly #KidneyDonation #PediatricTransplantation #OrganDonation #HealthcareResearch #MedicalInnovation

Could size and shape analysis techniques improve how we size match donor hearts to candidates? Could the system safely overcome traditional body size limitations, allowing a bigger donor pool for pediatric heart candidates? At ATC this year, UNOS data scientist Jonathan Plasencia, Ph.D. is presenting two posters justifying efforts to develop better donor-candidate size matching techniques to make the waitlist more equitable for the country’s smallest candidates. Join us in exploring how these innovations can transform pediatric heart transplantation and potentially save more lives. Visit Jonathan in the Poster Hall today, June 1 and Tuesday, June 4. #ATC2024 #Transplantation #PediatricTransplantation #OrganDonation #HealthcareInnovation

With kidney and pancreas organ offers in decline, and organ non-use emerging as a critical issue, understanding acceptance and refusal behaviors is more important than ever. Join UNOS expert Sarah Taranto this Sunday at ATC for her session: "Organ Offers Acceptance/Refusal Practices in Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation." Sarah will delve into the tools that can help programs accept more offers, benchmark their acceptance and refusal behaviors, and forecast their program trends. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights and improve your understanding of your program's organ offer practices. See you there! #ATC2024 #Transplantation #OrganDonation #HealthcareInnovation #AIinHealthcare

On #MemorialDay, we honor the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Corporal Benjamin S. Kopp, a member of the 75th Army Ranger Regiment, saved six of his comrades when his unit came under attack in Afghanistan. He was mortally wounded and saved four more lives back in the United States through his selfless gift of organ donation. To honor Corporal Kopp and all other brave soldiers who became donors, the Fallen Soldier statue stands at the National Donor Memorial at United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) headquarters and honors members of our military who made organ, eye, and tissue donation their last courageous act of service. 💙💚 #DonateLife
