The Death of the 9-to-5: Why Marketing Teams Need a New Approach to Work Remember when everyone showed up to the office at 9am sharp, worked until 5pm, and then battled traffic home? Neither do we. The truth is, the traditional one-size-fits-all approach to work is outdated and counterproductive for marketing teams. The recent Survey of Working Arrangements and Attitudes (SWAA), as reported by Business Insider, found that individual preferences for work arrangements vary widely. Some thrive in the office, others need the flexibility of remote work, and many crave a hybrid mix. Trying to squeeze diverse working styles into a single, inflexible mold doesn't work. Marketing thrives on creativity and innovation, but how can your team bring their A-game when shackled to a work arrangement that doesn't fit their needs? Imagine a brilliant social media strategist who does her best work at night from her couch, or a data analyst who needs the buzz of the office to stay energized but also requires work-from-home days for complex reports. In a rigid environment, these talents would be stifled. The most successful marketing teams of the future will embrace a flexible, personalized approach to work. They'll understand the unique needs of each team member and craft policies that allow everyone to work in the most productive way. But designing a flexible work policy for a diverse team is challenging. It requires a deep understanding of different work styles and the ability to create cohesion and collaboration in a non-traditional environment. (That's where TorchLight Hire can help. We've been in the trenches of marketing and creative staffing for years, and we've seen how personalized work arrangements can unleash a team's full potential. We can help you navigate the complexities of designing a flexible work policy that attracts and retains top marketing talent, whether you're building a fully remote team, an in-office powerhouse, or a hybrid.) The 9-to-5 is dead. The future of marketing belongs to the teams that embrace the diversity of individual work styles. 𝗧𝗛𝗘❓𝗙𝗢𝗥 🫵 How are you personalizing work arrangements for your team? What challenges and benefits have you discovered? 💬👇🏻❣️ P.S. If you're ready to build a marketing dream team with a personalized approach to work, let's chat. The TorchLight Hire team's experience and perspective can make a world of difference as you navigate the "differents."

Is the Hybrid Honeymoon Over for Older Workers? They say with age comes wisdom… but does it also come with a side of workplace traditionalism? A recent Business Insider article, drawing from data from the Survey of Working Arrangements and Attitudes (SWAA), suggests that might be the case. According to the SWAA, workers aged 50–64 are the most likely to take an all-or-nothing approach to the office: they’re either fully remote or fully in-office, with little interest in the middle ground of hybrid work. Meanwhile, their younger Gen Z and Millennial colleagues are all about that hybrid life, blending the best of both worlds. As a staffing agency specializing in marketing and creative talent, we at TorchLight have seen this generational difference play out firsthand. Many of our seasoned pros are eager to get back to the water cooler chats and in-person collaboration, while the rising stars are all about flexibility and work-life integration. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙫𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤? 𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 The key is to recognize that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to the future of work. Each role, team, and individual has unique needs and preferences. By offering a range of options and empowering employees to choose the arrangement that works best for them, you can attract and retain top talent across generations. But what happens when you have an urgent role to fill and your dream candidate’s work style doesn’t align with your company’s policy? Picture this: you’re a marketing leader tasked with finding a rockstar Content Strategist ASAP. You find the perfect person, but they’re only interested in fully remote work. Your CEO, however, is dead set on getting butts back in seats. Cue the panic and frustration. (This is where a partner like TorchLight can help. We specialize in finding the right fit, faster. Our deep network of marketing and creative pros spans the full spectrum of work preferences. We’ll work with you to craft a compelling offer that aligns with your needs and your candidate’s expectations. No more square pegs in round holes!) 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗣 At the end of the day, the most successful teams will be the ones that can harness the strengths and perspectives of all generations. By offering flexibility and choice, and working with specialized partners like TorchLight, you can build a dynamic, multi-generational team ready to take on the future of work. 𝗧𝗛𝗘❓𝗙𝗢𝗥 🫵 What’s your take on this generational divide? How has it played out in your organization? 💬👇🏻❣️ And if you’re struggling to fill a key marketing or creative role, give us a shout. The TorchLight Hire team is here to help you find the perfect fit.
