  • Request Change Tracker

    Issued US 9632919

Also known as "CRT". An example request change tracker may be used to create, modify, monitor, and report events occurring within a development and testing pipeline with respect to one or more computing applications. A request change tracker may include a pipeline event detector, a testing stage detector, a control module, and a reporting module. The pipeline event detector detects a pipeline event indicative of a status of a code module with respect to a pipeline. The testing stage detector…

The testing stage detector determines the associated testing stage in the pipeline, based on the pipeline event. The control module initiates actions with respect to the pipeline, based on the determined testing stage. The reporting module updates a reporting log with information related to the state, progress and results of a testing stage in the pipeline

  • System and method for inferring user interest based on analysis of user-generated metadata

    Filed US 20080040301

There are provided methods and systems for inferring a user's interests from user-generated tags of web-based content. In accordance with the invention, user-generated tags from viewing web-based content are collected over a predetermined period of time. A subset of distinct or unique tags is identified from among the collected tags. A z-score is calculated for each identified distinct tag, where the z-score is a measure of the statistical significance of the tag. The subset of distinct tags is…

The subset of distinct tags is then sorted based on their corresponding z-score. All distinct tags having a corresponding z-score lower than a predetermined threshold are rejected and the remaining distinct tags, having a corresponding z-score higher than the threshold are used to infer a user's interest. The ability to infer a user's interests from the remaining distinct tags may thus benefit web-based applications by achieving a high degree of accuracy in predicting the interests of users by leveraging on the use of the user generated content tags and keywords.

  • System and method for selecting a sub-domain for a specified domain of the web

    Filed US 20070266016

A selection system and method. The selection method comprises receiving, by a computing system, a taxonomy of data related to a specified domain of knowledge on the web. A taxonomy tree is constructed from the taxonomy. A sub tree related to a sub-domain from specified domain is selected from the taxonomy tree. A first list comprising user expected universal resource locators (URLs) related to the sub-domain is received. A second list comprising topic expressions defining each node of the…

A taxonomy tree is constructed from the taxonomy. A sub tree related to a sub-domain from specified domain is selected from the taxonomy tree. A first list comprising user expected universal resource locators (URLs) related to the sub-domain is received. A second list comprising topic expressions defining each node of the taxonomy sub-tree is generated. A query based on the second list is generated. The query is applied on an index of URLs generated from a web crawling process to generate a third list. A recall value is calculated based on the first list and the third list.

  • Validating updated business rules

    Filed US 20070239570

A computer-implemented method and program product for validating updated business rules. A first set of documents utilized to validate a first set of business rules is provided. A second set of business rules generated from an update of the first set of business rules is received. Each business rule includes input parameters. A second set of documents is received. A template file includes the input parameters and corresponding path expressions. An augmented set of documents includes the first…

A second set of business rules generated from an update of the first set of business rules is received. Each business rule includes input parameters. A second set of documents is received. A template file includes the input parameters and corresponding path expressions. An augmented set of documents includes the first and second sets of documents. The second set of business rules is automatically semantically validated against the augmented set of documents. The semantic validation includes executing the second set of business rules with each document of the augmented set. The executing includes binding, via the path expressions, the input parameters to values included in a document of the augmented set.

  • System and method for extraction of factoids from textual repositories

    Filed US 20070162447

A method (400) is disclosed of extracting factoids from text repositories, with the factoids being associated with a given factoid category. The method (400) starts by training a classifier (230) to recognise factoids relevant to that given factoid category. Documents or document summaries relevant to the given factoid category is next collected (410) from the text repositories. Sentences having a predetermined association to the given factoid category is extracted (420) from the documents or…

The method (400) starts by training a classifier (230) to recognise factoids relevant to that given factoid category. Documents or document summaries relevant to the given factoid category is next collected (410) from the text repositories. Sentences having a predetermined association to the given factoid category is extracted (420) from the documents or said document summaries. Those sentences are classified (440), in a noisy environment, using the classifier (230) to extract snippets containing phrases relevant to the given factoid category. It is the extracted snippets that are the factoid associated with the given factoid category.

  • System and method for on-demand analysis of unstructured text data returned from a database

    Filed US 20060248087

A system and method of retrieving data from a database comprising unstructured data comprises specifying a text analytic component in an unstructured text query at query runtime; submitting the unstructured text query to a web service database; filtering unstructured text data in the web service database based on constraints defined in the text analytic component in the query; and receiving the filtered unstructured text data based on the submitted query from the web service database, wherein…

A system and method of retrieving data from a database comprising unstructured data comprises specifying a text analytic component in an unstructured text query at query runtime; submitting the unstructured text query to a web service database; filtering unstructured text data in the web service database based on constraints defined in the text analytic component in the query; and receiving the filtered unstructured text data based on the submitted query from the web service database, wherein the text analytic component comprises metadata requirements. Preferably, the constraints comprise any of positive sentiments regarding an unstructured text document and negative sentiments regarding the unstructured text document. Alternatively, the constraints may comprise any of name spotting constraints, address spotting constraints, date spotting constraints, and entity spotting constraints. The filtering preferably occurs using a web-based callback service specified in a WFQL XML document. The database is preferably run on a WebFountain platform.
